VisualDof offers handy information for professional (esp. landscape) photographers to set the parameters. For amateur/casual photographers, it offers great insight into how to control depth of field using various camera/lens parameters. The ability to control Dof is a major factor making a photo stand out.

VisualDof has a highly focused, easy-to-use interface. It focuses on intuitive operations with no need for manual. User sets four parameters on the main screen and the result is immediately calculated. The only option is the metrics switch. When not using "meters", VisualDof dynamically presents the result distances in feet and inch.

VisualDof features a visual display of the calculation result. Users can see/feel immediately the comparison between current focus and focus at hyperfocal distance.

VisualDofs algorithm is conservative-biased. This ensures the calculation result matches todays digital cameras high resolution.
