Audio Gallery - American English To Chinese 1.1.0 description
Audio Gallery Chinese is the iPhone version of the general purpose language training program, Audio Gallery, tailored for learning Chinese. Audio Gallery Chinese features more than 800 digitized words and phrases, in Chinese Mandarin, user selection of traditional or simplified-style characters, and transliteration of Chinese sounds into Pinyin (transcription of Chinese characters into Latin letters).
Audio Gallery, a talking picture dictionary, is designed as a rapid introduction to the basic vocabulary of a foreign language.
It is also a fine educational tool, being similar to the "Duden" picture dictionary textbooks, the concept used to educate children in Japan and Germany.
Audio Gallery is designed for ease of use by children or adults who may not be able to read English, but who can, of course, click on pictures. The program can be easily navigated through just by clicking on icons and pictures.
Audio Gallery is great for travelers, tourists, students, or anyone who seeks to attain the basic vocabulary of a foreign language. There are 20 general topics such as Weather, Transportation, Restaurant, etc. Included are an additional 6-12 Basic topics, such as Alphabet, Colors, Greetings, Numbers, etc.
Audio Gallery assists in learning a language through flashcards and quizzes. Flashcards include not only the spelling translations of a word, but also a picture for the word, and the sound files which may be played on the iPhone for pronunciation of a word. Vocabulary is arranged by topic so you may concentrate on any one area to increase skills or look up a words translation.
There are a variety of fun and interesting quizzes for each category including quizzes for word recognition, pronunciation recognition, and picture recognition. Audio Gallery retains statistics about your quiz results, so that you may track your learning progress by time, category, word, and type of quiz.
History of Audio Gallery: Audio Gallery was the worlds first commercially-viable multimedia-based educational tool for learning foreign languages. It was introduced in 1989 on Commodores Amiga computer, and featured digitized speech, graphics and even some animation. It was hailed by Amiga World, Amazing, Info and other journals, was a commercial success in the US, UK, Canada and Australia and was sold throughout the world.
