“BITCH!” The Autobiography of Lady Lawford

The autobiography of Lady Lawford—Bitch!, is derived from a quote by Lady Lawford: “I have been called a bitch by the Aga Khan, by the Duke of Windsor, by Winston Churchill, by King Farouk and by old Joe Kennedy. At least I have been called a bitch by the best!” The situations May got into were not always of such a serious nature, for she loved life, parties and people. She was a good and loyal friend--but woe to those who found themselves on her pri-vate black list. Her family was surely irritated by her many scrapes and the countless Cadillacs she smashed up by driving them through the hack door of her garage. But to those who were not tied to her by blood relationships, all these extravaganzas were merely a source of laughter and added to her indomitably cheerful character.
