Blue Marble

Blue Marble is an app for downloading and viewing NASAs Blue Marble: Next Generation imagery of the Earth at a spatial resolution of 500 meters. You type the latitude and longitude and an image centered at any point on Earth is downloaded from a global data server to the iPhone (works over the 3G network). The Blue Marble app contains a 3-D viewing option that creates an anaglyphic stereo view using USGS GTOPO30 elevation data. With red-blue stereo glasses one can "see" the terrain in 3-D. Controls allow the user to increase or decrease the vertical exaggeration of the 3-D image. Any of the images can be saved to the camera roll for export and printing.
