-Elements must all start with a capital letter, and may be followed by a lower case letter.
-Elements may be followed by a integer, which will function as a subscript.
-Parenthesis are supported, and they can be followed by a subscript. Some valid examples follow.

H2CrO4+AgNO3-> Ag2CrO4+HNO3

Pb(NO3)2+KI -> PbI2+KNO3

Molecules are clearly separated by a + sign.
