ChromaTuner

ChromaTuner is a virtual chromatic tuner that provides the most accurate yet simple tool available for its single specific task: tuning musical instruments. It includes the FMOD engine which performs the core audio analysis (http://www.fmod.org).

VERSION 1.1

The free update (pending approval) drastically improves analysis for certain cases in which the detected dominant frequency would change quickly, causing sporadic jumps. While these cases are rare, please be aware that they can occur when testing low frequencies in the initial (1.0) version.

The update also adds support for additional calibration, input sensitivity, improved tuning fork tones, and an updated FMOD library. Thanks to those who provided feedback which enabled these improvements.

DETAILS:

ChromaTuner performs spectrum analysis using FMODs FFT algorithm and filters specifically for iPhone and the heavy compression and close proximity characteristics of its built-in mic. The app does its best to isolate the detected fundamental from its overtones and report it through a simple single-screen interface.
