There is no easier way to learn Chinese Stroke Order than to have eStroke show it to you. Just enter any Chinese Character and eStroke will show you the correct Stroke Order, radical, meanings, pinyin, zhuyin and jyutping and commonly used phrases. Entering a character is as simple as tapping on the animation box to bring up the keyboard or selecting a character from the Grade button.

eStroke also caters for Simplified and Traditional Chinese as well as Stroke Order differences across Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. It will even show you Kanji Stroke Order. It comes with three dictionaries, Chinese/English, Chinese/German and Japanese/English. You can use it as an online dictionary you can take anywhere.

Quick Start

You will need to enable Chinese Input on your device via Setting->General->International->Keyboards->Chinese(Traditional or Simplified) and enable Handwriting and/or Pinyin.

Start eStroke and tap on the animation area to bring up the keyboard. You will notice a Globe next to 123 on the keyboard. Tap on the globe to switch amongst the keyboards. The Pinyin keyboard is similar to the normal Alphabetic keyboard except that you will notice Chinese Characters on the Space Bar.

There are some Chinese Characters that vary slightly in Taiwan (育) and Hong Kong (周,靠 etc). Select Preference->Stroke to customize.

The animation is fairly computation intensive. Turn off Preference->Outline and Preference->Change Color for better performance. eStroke v1.1. has been optimized to produce smoother animation. We will optimize further in v1.2.
