This year, the Open Championship, the world’s biggest and most sought-after prize in golf, comes again to the famous links of Turnberry in Scotland. Using photographs from a £1 million camera, you will be able to see not only the course being used in the Championship, but also the distances from wherever the players are situated to the green, or to any other hazard for that matter.

Showing easily viewable distance readouts to all the key features, as well as the distance from those features to the green, the application has been specifically designed so you can course-manage as effectively as possible.

Using the built-in GPS capability of the iPhone, your current position is displayed on the course, and changes as you move. Distances are recalculated in real time. You can easily touch and drag your position to anywhere on the course and have instant distances to the green and other features.

Arcs are overlaid onto the course, so that easily identifiable yardages are always available in the most user-friendly screen in golf, utilising our association and years of experience with the professional game both in Europe and in the US.

This free download is the forerunner to the highly anticipated launch of Golf GPS i in August 2009. For the first time, golfers with an iPhone can have access to a plethora of courses, with detailed course photographs and live GPS-assisted distance information at their fingertips.
