Janggi - Korean Chess

Janggi, or Korean Chess, is an Artificial Intelligence board game that users can play on an iPhone (or Touch). Janggi is a common board game in Asia (China, Japan, and Korea) but the rules are different in each country. This program incorporates Korean rules and forms and offers an easy-to-understand interface so that anyone can enjoy it.

When the user touches a piece, the possible moves of that piece are shown. The user then touches the desired position of that piece, and the piece moves accordingly. For a single game, the user waits until for the AI to move first. When the piece known as the general is lost, the game is lost. Click X to go main page. When the user saves a game, the iPhone saves the game history for later review or replay.

The pieces and board are beautifully designed and the Janggi pieces are octagonal in shape. Korean and English versions are available.

Special features of the program include:
1. Game results can be saved for later review.
2. A game can be saved in mid-play for later retrieval.
3. Both single-player (user vs. AI) and 2-player (user vs. user) versions are available.
4. The opposing pieces are labelled with the Chinese character Han (red side) or Cho (green side), and the user can choose to be either Han or Cho.
5. The position of the horse (Ma) and the elephants (Sang) are adjustable.
6. Four different board colors are available.
7. A lower-level AI player is available for beginners.
8. Important battles can be saved used for later research and study.
9. Moves can be undone or redone without limitation.
10. Last moves can be replayed.
11. The game can be undone to the initial stage and also reviewed from beginning to end.

This program is updated periodically for A.I. algorithms.

version 1.0이 프로그램은 장기(Janggi, Korean Chess)로서 인공지능(AI)을 탑재하여 사용자가 아이폰(또는 터치)과 1:1로 대결을 할 수 있는 보드게임입니다. 장기는 동양(한국, 중국, 일본)에서 대중이 즐기는 게임의 한 종류이며 삼국에서 두는 장기의 룰이 조금씩 다릅니다. 본 프로그램은 한국에서 사용하는 장기의 룰과 모양을 갖추고 있으며, 누구나 손쉽게 게임을 할 수 있도록 쉬운 인터페이스로 구성되어 있습니다.

장기의 알과 판이 미려하게 구성되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 대중이 가장 많이 쓰고 있는 알의 모양으로 제작하였습니다. 영어판과 한국어판을 제공합니다.

본 프로그램의 중요한 특징은 다음과 같습니다.
1. 대결을 한 결과를 모두 저장할 수 있으며 다시보기를 할 수 있음.
2. 중간에 그만 두어도 다시 실행하면 이어서 할 수 있음.
3. Human vs AI(1인용) 뿐만 아니라 Human vs Human(2인용)의 대결도 할 수 있음.
4. 한(Han)과 초(Cho)를 선택할 수 있음.
5. 마(Ma-Horse)와 상(Sang-Elephant)의 위치를 자유롭게 교체할 수 있음.
6. 장기판의 종류(색상)를 4가지 지원함.
7. 인공지능을 낮은 모드를 선택함으로서 어린이(유아)에게 교육용 장기로 둘 수 있음.
8. 중요한 대전 기록을 2인용 모드로 기록함으로서 장기 수 연구용으로 사용할 수 있음.
9. 두었던 수를 취소(undo)하거나 다시 실행하기(redo)를 제한 없이 할 수 있음.
10. 마지막 두었던 수를 다시보기(replay)할 수 있음.
11. 게임은 맨 처음으로 모두 돌아갈 수 있으며, 이 기능을 이용해 처음부터 다시보기를 할 수 있음.
