In the digital age, watch making mastery of the calendar with months of varying lengths, leap years and precise depiction of the lunar cycle may not seem complicated. In a mechanical “perpetual calendar”, however, such complications demand mastery from their creator. It is a matter of miniaturizing
a veritable universe and making it visible on a dial in all of its manifold details. A valuable movement with exquisite machine turning drives a mechanism that covers all caprices of the calendar great and small until 2099. An additional 24-hour display can be used as a second time zone.
 
The Innovation
With the KIENZLE N°4 App you download a masterpiece on your iPhone. The movement must be set and be regularly wound up: This is done by either rotating the crown or shaking the iPhone.

The various functions of the timepiece are animated in the App and can accordingly be handled. Those are the display of hours, minutes, central seconds, date, day, month, leap year (preset until 2099) and 24H, useable by corrector as a 2nd time zone.

Even the backside of the watch is animated - through the crystal caseback you can see the movement with a fascinating expedition. The screw balance and the swan neck regulation are framed by finally wrought bridges.

With the App you have the KIENZLE master piece present at any time.
