In any Taoist area of China, it is common to see a statue of an old man, with white hair and beard, long ears drooping down towards his shoulders. He is Lao Tzu, the man most closely associated with Taoist belief. Lao Tzu was famous for his Tao Te Ching. The original meaning of the Chinese character "Tao" is "a road or path peoplewalk upon", however, the "Tao" of Lao Tzu is a sublimation and extension of that meaning…

This book give us a recital of Lao Tzus experiences, Taoism influence around the world. Five chapters are included: Lao Tzu and Taoism ,Lao Tzu in History Books, Story of Lao Tzu ,Lao Tzu and Chinese Culture ,Tao Te Ching( to be more clear, this chapter gives some backgrounf of Tao te Ching, but doesnt include the content of Taote Ching itself, since that part are not in the original book.)
