RC Beam let you design reinforced concrete beams for moment, shear, and torsion using your iPhone or iPod Touch. RC Beam is an application for civil and structural engineers and students interested in reinforced concrete design (normal weight concrete).

Features:

- Flexure Design: Calculates the required tension reinforcement for rectangular and T shaped concrete beams.

- Shear and torsion design: Calculates the required stirrup spacing for shear and torsion and the required additional longitudinal reinforcement for torsion.

- Section Properties: Calculates the transformed moment of inertia, cracked moment of inertia, cracking moment, yielding moment, nominal moment strength, failure type, and strength reduction factor for rectangular beam having tension reinforcement only.

-Section Strength: Calculates the nominal moment capacity, strength reduction factor, and failure type for rectangular and T shaped reinforced concrete beams with or without compression reinforcement.

RC Beam uses the latest ACI 318 building code. The required inputs for design are usually the specified concrete compressive strength, yield strength of reinforcement, the members dimensions, and the factored applied forces. Supports both US (lb-in) and metric (kN-m) units.
