Tour Austin

Experience and learn about the fascinating history and culture of Austin, Texas like never before with a self-guided GPS video tour on your iPhone! BarZ Adventures and the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau partnered to create this multimedia walking tour of downtown Austin, hosted by Michelle Valles from our local news station. The tour delivers video, audio, and historic photography based on the location of the user.

The Austin Walking Tour takes users on an entertaining and educational trek around a self-paced, 14-block loop of downtown Austin. An interactive Google™ map notes the points of interest and shows the user’s location. The video tour delivers stories about the history, culture and architecture of over 2 dozen points of interest. The self-paced tour allows users to watch the videos for the tour stops that are of interest to them and to skip those that aren’t. Points of interest include the Driskill Hotel, Paramount Theatre, Millet Opera House, Texas State Capitol, Governor’s Mansion and St. Mary’s Cathedral.
