XifPix

XifPix enables you to quickly embed location information, captions and comments directly into any photo at the time you take it on your iPhone. You can also add info to any image you have previously saved or have in your image library.

Unlike many other applications, XifPix saves this information using EXIF tags which are stored as part of the photo itself, so if you email the photo using XifPix or upload it to a picture site the info always goes with it. Using XifPix means no more additional Geo tagging steps online or on your desktop and if you change your picture site, no more tedious retagging of all your pictures.

XifPix can email the photo without losing the EXIF info using your existing mobileme, gmail or other email account to any address in your address book with a single tap, or to any photo hosting/social network site that supports email upload. Alternatively, you can upload the photo to FaceBook or Picasa using direct upload.

Xifpix will use the position of the phone to automatically pick up your current location, or you can change this and use the Map navigation features to choose a different place anywhere in the world to set as the location of your new or saved photo.

Storing the info as EXIF tags means that you can view it in any EXIF viewer software and sites such as Picasa will automatically display this alongside your images.

Although XifPix stores your photo caption and comments as EXIF in the image, it will also send these as the subject and body text in the email and add them as additional fields when uploading, so sites that cant read this info can see the information.

Uniquely, XifPix also allows you to add your own EXIF tags such as copyright to the photo, or remove any info you would rather not include, such as the device type.
